How much are you willing to bet on the hugely anticipated fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr? Is it $100, $1,000 or even $10,000?
Well, on Friday the South Point Casino in the heart of Las Vegas took a staggering bet of $880,000 which is by far the largest bet on the bout to date.
The insane bet was placed on Mayweather to beat The Notorious, and for most fans within the sport of boxing, that is already a foregone conclusion. So, if all the predictions are correct and Mayweather makes simple work of McGregor, the anonymous punter will bag himself over $1 million.
Mayweather is currently around odds of $1.18 to $1.22 to emerge victorious which places him as the overwhelming favourite.
(This punter could have got MUCH better odds with us if he’d have compared the Mayweather McGregor odds!)
Although the odds and stake should point to a profit of $160,000 if the bet lands, the actual profit listed on the slip is $120,000.

This purely because the crazy bet is just too big for the casino to handle, and its policy does not permit pay-outs that exceed $1 million. Therefore, the South Point director, Chris Andrews, confirmed that the pay-out would equate to $1.04 million should Mayweather win.
